About Us
We are a tri-cultural family, I was born and raised here in Merida. As a teenager I moved to the US and lived there for over 15 years. My husband was born and raised in Canada. He moved to the US to go to University and lived there for many years as well. Now my husband Chris and I (Claudia) live here in Merida with our children who were all born in the US. So in many ways whether its lifestyle, food, language, etc. we view ourselves as a Tri Cultural family Canadian-American-Mexican. It can be very interesting at times.
My family here in Merida has been in the Carpentry business for over 40 years. My Dad Julio started learning his craft as a young boy, and years later passed on his teachings to my Brother Esteban. Along the way, they have both developed into Master Carpenters, true artisans within their craft. It took many years for them to hone and polish their skill and talent.

My husband and I decided to launch CarpinteriaMerida.com in order to offer these custom furniture making services at a great price to the ever growing expat community here in Merida and the surrounding areas.

In the photo above, we took a design that a client drew out on a piece of paper, and had it carved into the head piece of the chair as requested. This is the type of custom work we can do.
